Local teacher to run for city council seat




CORPUS CHRISTI - A local high school government teacher has decided to run for office. Carroll High School teacher, Rene Saenz, announced Tuesday that he's running for the District 3 City Council seat. He said he believes his background in education, and his expertise in government and economics give him the skills needed to build a stronger local economy. "I understand the importance that education has on economic development in this city," Saenz said. "There are corrolations, and I've been able to do that through school and the research that I've done." State Rep. Solomon Ortiz Jr. attended Tuesday morning's announcement to show his support for Saenz.

Rene, did you send out any notice of your announcement? You should have at least emailed it to chisme. You know they hate the Noyolas.
